5 Stars A Great Little Cooker!
I’ve been using a round Weber for years, and it was finally wearing out, so I decided to try this new model. It is excellent, with strong design and construction, easy to use lid and vents, and one of the most effective grill plates I’ve ever encountered. I’ve never been a big fan of propane grills or monster-sized charcoal cook-a-ramas. This is just what I need to do perfect steaks and fish for six people.
The only drawback, which doesn’t affect the unit itself, is that the Weber stand accessory is not well designed. Just plan to put this on a sturdy table.
5 Stars Perfect!
My husband was looking for the perfect charcoal, table-top grill — and we found it! The only design flaw is that you have to light the charcoal, then put the cooking grates on, so it can be challenging. Other than that, we are really happy with this portable grill.
5 Stars Weber brand legacy continues
The Weber Char Q is a well designed high performance charcoal grill. The accessories available product line makes this aluminum griller a very versatile performer. Adding the stationary cart, the handle light and a full-size cover makes this an excellent replacement for your main back yard grill. The ability to remove it from the cart and use it as a mobile table top grill allows it to go anywhere you may need it.
Unfortunately Weber does not make a Table Kit for the Char Q model. This accessory is only available for the propane models. You will need a side table for tools and dishes.
Easy to empty the ashes and clean the grates. An excellent value and an excellent performer.
4 Stars Great grill, hate the clean up
I was a little unsure if this type of grill would work with charcoal, but it does. The spacing between the grill and the charcoal is a little close for my liking. You have to keep a close eye on the food so that it will not burn. The food taste great because of that charcoal flavor that a propane grill just would not give. Now the problem, it makes a mess. Cleaning the bottom of the grill is a pain. You can not clean it a 100%. It leaves a little bit of the burn charcoal at the bottom. Also, the handles are a little “weak” for the weight of the grill in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy the grill, but I wish it didn’t have the problems that it has for the price that it cost.
4 Stars Great for Two
The Weber Q serves the purpose for which I bought it. Rather than pull out the large Weber and wrestle with the cover, I now save it for company. The Weber Q is just perfect for a dinner for two. Actually, you could feed four easily. The small cover (additional) goes on quickly and easily and clean up is a breeze. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that the coals are a bit closer to the grate than I would like. I am quickly learning how to adjust my grilling to this problem. Hello indirect grilling. I would certainly buy this product again.

5 Stars Weber Q120
Have finally had a chance to use this product for the first time. In a word, FANTASTIC! Easy to use. Started on first press of the start button. Did an excellent job. A can’t miss.
5 Stars Terrific Grill
Perfect size for my patio in my condo. Grilled the 2 steaks I put on to perfection. I could have gotton on another 2 or 3 steaks at the same time. I love it.
5 Stars great grill
We love this grill, there are no cold spots, it works great, seems to be built sturdy. The grill itself is heavy, it is just like a lage gas grill only smaller. We made 6 burgers and a largish steak on it at one time so it is large enough for a family meal.
4 Stars something to consider
Well made product…. however … The openings in the lid to accommodate the folding side shelves allow the wind to flow through and reduce heat efficiency. Can be a problem in windy areas such as along the Texas Gulf Coast (specifically Padre Island beaches)
5 Stars So great, I bought a second one!
I’ve had the Weber Q 120 for about two years now, and has worked great being dragged camping or even just to the backyard to cook a veggie burger or two. My BF is a vegetarian so I used it primarily for vegetarian foods. I just today ordered a second one to use for meats (yes, separate grills for separate food).
The cart you can buy works great when you’re on the move (you can use it to tote around the BBQ grill to its location, then stand it up to use as a stand), the side tables that fold out are great.
If you buy the Weber Q tools they will snap into place underneath the side table and will fold INTO the grill where they stay away from outside elements until they are used.
I accidentally left the Weber Q outside for too long (yes, 6 months too low) and the grate started to rust, so keep it inside. Instead of cleaning it I was able to get a replacement from Weber for only approximately $26 (with shipping!).
The grate comes out and is easy to scrub in the sink (if you’d like) or just burn it off and wipe with a towel (vegetables don’t tend to stick too often). The drip pan is huge enough for a few sessions of BBQ and you can toss them out as necessary (replacements aluminum tins available). I had a Coleman grill with a tiny little plastic thing to hold grease run-off, and it would always overflow during hamburger cookouts and leave me with an awful mess unless I babysat the darn thing.
The grill is not too heavy and pretty easy to lift and move around, I ABSOLUTELY love it. I use mini-propane tanks since they are easier to haul and works great (only need two during a weekend camping trip while feeding a few people).
This is my first grill I ever bought on my own and I have fallen madly in love with it.. Yes, I love it soo much that I did, after all, buy a second one today

5 Stars Great grill
I have looked for a grill for quite a while and did a lot research on them. I am very happy with the Webber Q, it cleans easy starts great and is easy to use.
5 Stars Love it!
We bought the Weber Q200 propane grill a few weeks ago. We bought the nice stand that goes with it, as well as a large propane tank, the nice large cover that covers the entire unit (except for the wheels) when used with the stand, and a grill brush for cleaning. We also bought a connector hose that connects the large propane tank to the grill, but then returned it as our Q came with the connector hose so we ended up not needing the one we bought.
We really love this grill. We have been using it every day since we bought it! It’s super easy to start up, super easy to use, and easy to clean. Ours came with a few disposable aluminum grease drip pans, we’ve just been washing the same one and reusing it each day.
With our old charcoal grill, we usually only grilled on the weekends, as we are a busy family and don’t have a lot of time during the week to mess around with the coals and the cleanup afterwards. We are finding that with propane - which is a brand new experience for us - not only is it super quick to get started, but cleanup afterwards is also much easier and quicker. We also have found we like the cleaner taste that our foods now have. We also feel that using propane is better for the environment, so that’s a benefit, too.
We really love the porcelain enameled cast iron cooking grates. They are much nicer than the steel grates in our old charcoal grill - much easier to clean and we like the thicker charred lines it’s leaving on the foods. We were told by the salesperson where we bought our grill that the more you use the grates, the more seasoned they become and that we should notice our food tasting better as they become more seasoned. Our food is tasting delicious already!
The grill came with lots of information booklets, one which included recipes. We’ve tried several of the recipes already and they were great!
Today we just bought a Weber griddle that goes with the Q200. I haven’t used it yet (I’ll post a review for it once we have :)) and we are looking forward to cooking bacon on our grill! I don’t mind my house smelling like pancakes and coffee, but somehow I don’t like how that greasy bacon smell lingers long after breakfast - so now we can cook our bacon outside. We’re excited about this.
There’s also a cool rolling duffel you can buy for the Q grills. I am thinking of buying this for my husband for Father’s Day. We plan on taking this grill with us on road trips and to the beach and whatnot, and the duffel would make it so easy not only to roll to where ever you want it, but also keep it protected - and you’re car protected - during travel. The grill is a bit heavy, so if you’re elderly or not very strong, and the portability of this grill is what you’re truly after, you might want to go with the smaller Q100 or a different grill. Or perhaps taking out the grates would make it lighter for you during transport, as they are really what seems to make this grill heavier than most.
I was surprised, too, with the amount of space we have with this grill. Yesterday we grilled 5 pounds of tri-tip - all at once! We still had some space left that we could have put some sausages or skewers on if we had wanted to. We are a family of four - two boys and two adults - and this grill has more than enough room for us. We haven’t used it for entertaining yet, or for a large crowd, but my feeling is that this grill would be suitable even for at least a small gathering of perhaps 8 - 10 people.
We found this grill at a locally owned store for the prices that were comparable to the prices we’ve found online at Walmart.com and here on Amazon. I feel it’s worth every penny. We plan to take good care of this grill and use it for many many years to come.
5 Stars excellent value
This grill is well made and terrific quality. It appears that like the previous Weber products I have purchased, it will last and last. This was also the best price I could find for this model.
1 Star major disappointment
i initially bought this because of the weber name. i mean, weber and grilling is synonymous, right? i must have gotten a bad batch. it was dead on arrival. but i didn’t want to give up so i called weber. absolutely horrible customer service experience. it’s been weeks and i’m still waiting for a replacement regulator. i simply can’t understand why they cannot get it to me. i still have high hopes that if in fact that is my problem, it’ll work fine after i replace it. but… why can’t they get their s**t together?
5 Stars Weber 396002 Q 200 Gas Grill
I am really enjoying my Q grill. I read a few reviews saying that it was hard to light. Mine is lighting just fine so far. Turn the gas knob to the correct position and push the button and poof, it’s lit. Can’t get know more simpler than that. Does it every time.

5 Stars fabulous grill
This is a fabulous grill. It starts w/ a pushbutton, gets hot enough in less than 10 min. I put a tin foil pan in the drip tray so I only have to throw it away when it is filled. The grate is easy enough to clean, just put it in the dishwasher or soak it in the sink. I also hooked it up to a big gas tank - make sure you get the adaptor. I don’t even use my big grill anymore. The cooking surface on this is all useable. I cook on this grill every day, sometimes twice a day in all seasons. I recommend this grill.
5 Stars Can’t say enough good things…
I bought this grill to bring to the Dominican Republic. Appliances are very expensive there, and a good grill is hard to find there, at any price. I wanted something I could bring on the plane. They wouldn’t let me carry it on, but I was able to check it. I packed the lid seperately from the base, wrapped some clothes and a couple of beach towels around it, in a large duffel, put cardboard around the grill surface so the cast wouldn’t crack, and it held up perfectly in transit.
I read the reviews before purchasing this, and they were extremely helpful. Many thanks to the guy that suggested getting the Freedom Adapter Hose. Other reviewers said that squirrels ate their Weber adapter hose. (Do yourself a favor and read all of the reviews- they’re very entertaining). While squirrels are not a problem in the DR, this hose is not only very well made, it adapted perfectly to the propane tanks in DR.
Other reviewers said they had issues with wind. I can tell you that I used it during strong wind and heavy rain and had absolutely no problem with the flame going out. I also read that people found it cooked things too quickly, so I watched it carefully, the first time I used it. Not a problem. No different than my big grill in the states. Also, I cooked for four people and there was plenty of grill space.
This is probably one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I would buy another one, in a heartbeat. When I bought it, I paid $125.00. If you have time, I would suggest putting it in your cart and watching the price, as it will fluctuate.
4 Stars Baby Q Grill
Excellent service as far as quick delivery. This item also shipped free!
One thing I did not do was order the tank conversion hose that was available at the time for a great price - almost half of the store price and also would have qualified for free shipping with the grill. You may want to include this with any Baby Q order.
5 Stars Exceeded my expectations
I really didn’t expect much from this grill since I had already been dissapointed with Webers Go Anywhere gas unit. I must say the cast iron grate makes all the difference. Very even heat and excellent grill marks. First thing I cooked on it was a big sirloin and fresh potato wedges and it came out wonderful. I’m mostly a charcoal guy but I bought this becase I’m a grilling fanatic and wanted something for weekday meals when charcoal is too time consuming. I highly recommend this grill you won’t be dissapointed. It is very well built and you can fit enough food for about 6 people so don’t let the small size fool you. Take a chance and order you will be happy you did. Great portable grill that is going to replace my big grill at home as well.
3 Stars Good buy but has problems
The grill is compact but somewhat unstable on its feet.
Also The part that connects to the to the gas bottle has high defective rate and is very complicated to replace it. (The whole grill must be taken apart) But the customer service was nice even though foreign and somewhat hard to understand.
Otherwise it works and does its job nicely. Don’t expect smoky flavor, since it works on gas.
I thing it is a little over priced.
